Dealing with school boards

When approaching the school board, it’s essential to be fully informed and prepared. Define your objectives clearly and create a structured plan outlining the topics you intend to discuss, along with specific actions you expect them to take before the end of the school year. Going into a meeting unprepared will give the school board the upper hand, and you cannot allow that to happen.

Make it a priority to take thorough notes or record everything they say. When addressing them, don’t hesitate to remind them of any negative comments or decisions that have arisen in previous meetings. You must also conduct comprehensive research on the issues important to you, and ensure you explain your goals to your child, so they fully understand what you are fighting for on their behalf.
